You can't know me very long without knowing about the cookies. It's really pretty simple. I like to bake and I'm pretty good at it. I'm not great. It's just that I take the time to do it in a day and age when lots of people are too busy to do homemade. It started when Benjamin was pretty young and I'd bake when he went on Boy Scout campouts. I don't think he was very thrilled when I would send along cookies but his friends liked them. When Benjamin was in high school, I started baking cookies for the cross-country team. I baked cookies for every meet. Then it was the track team. When Em started high school, I also baked for the girls' cross-country team, and the girls' track team, and the girls' basketball team. Sometimes it gets a little ridiculous - "in season" I probably average 8 batches of cookies a week. It takes a fair amount of time. Still, it is worth every bit of it. My kids like giving away the cookies and I have made more young friends than I could have ever imagined.
