I have been taking piano lessons for about four years now. I took lessons when I was growing up. I was never really good but I did enjoy it. Especially in high school, when I took lessons from a wonderful lady named Dottie Mays. I decided it was something I'd like to do again as an adult. It has been a wonderful experience. I pick out the music I want to work on and my teacher, Tracey, helps me learn it. I play classical music but also rag, jazz and whatever fun stuff appeals to me. Today was our recital and I played Mozart's "Twelve Variations of Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star". I never play things perfectly despite tons of practice. Still, I flubbed some early in the piece but as I got going, I did pretty well. Mom, Emily and Mary Kate seemed to think I did okay. I will keep on playing. It's my anti-Alzheimer insurance and I like it much better than crossword puzzles.
