Last night was our conference meet. Mary Kate ran the 3000 meters and the 1500 meters - the two longest races. She has had such a good year this year. She works very hard and she takes her running very seriously. It has been fun to see how much she has improved this year. She has taken nearly 1 minute off of her 3000 meter time and about 45 seconds off of the 1500 meters. She looks strong when she runs and she runs a very smart race. Last night, she was determined to do her best. Her dad told her to go out to win. And win, she did, in the 3000 meter. She took 6 seconds off of her personal record. It was so much fun to watch and yes, as usual, I cried. Much later, after a rain delay and all, she came back and ran her 1500 meters. She took 6th place in a fast field and took 8 seconds off of her PR! What a way to end your season, kiddo!
